Long Distance Shooting

Target in the Scope****Due to ammunition shortages, we’ve had to put this activity on hold for the 2014 season****

In this course of fire, we will be shooting targets at unknown and known distances and each shooter should be prepared to shoot between 1 and 3 rounds (3 will be plenty!).  The .338 LAPUA Magnum may well be seen by small-arms historians as one of the most important cartridges developed in the latter part of the 20th century. This magnum cartridge is capable of accurate shooting past a half mile and over 1000 yards. As for Recoil, the 338 Lapua Magnum should be considered a Magnum Caliber Rifle with heavy recoil and shooters should be prepared. Previous rifle shooting experiences are HIGHLY SUGGESTED to be comfortable with the recoil and muzzle blast.

Others are welcome to join us at the range just to see the shooting take place. If you are signed up and decide not to shoot once you’ve arrived at the range, that’s okay! You’ll have the chance to learn sight alignment and focus, triggering control and breathing, and other techniques to help hit the target. This adventure is designed for the adults.
