Ranch Dining at it’s Best.

Red Horse Mountain Ranch is usually known for its famous kids program and our amazing menu of guided adventures. But for the past few years, it’s been the ranch dining that’s putting us over the top.

In the spirit of a great Rocky Mountain ranch, Grandma’s recipes are alive and well, but we’ve added a little flair to bring out the flavors and the freshness of the West. At Red Horse Mountain Ranch the kitchen is no exception to the principles we operate with; always fresh, plenty of options, and absolutely make everyone feel at home. Vegan, gluten-free, or any other food requirement, will find it difficult to shed a few pounds on this ranch vacation.

The chefs will delight you with daily fresh breads, seemingly endless buffets, salad bars, a special dinner paired with regional wines, and outdoor western ranch cooking. All of your entrees, appetizers, salads are made fresh daily. Lunches and dinners always include salads and seasonal, regional produce whenever possible.

Our three chefs and kitchen staff is dedicated to making sure that you and your children enjoy every meal during your stay. We are open to special meal requests and dietary concerns for you and your family. We encourage you to fill out the allergy and food preference portions of the Activity Form so that we can be prepared for your visit upon arrival.

Breakfast

At Red Horse Mountain Ranch, we believe that the best way to start each morning is with an energizing breakfast to get you ready for the activities of the day. Our hot breakfasts are made to order and can include anything from eggs, hash browns, bacon and sausage, to pancakes, French toast, and biscuits and gravy, omelets, hot cereals, and more. For lighter breakfast options, we have a variety of cold cereals, yogurt, seasonal fruit, and fresh-baked muffins or breads. We also serve a variety of 100% fruit juices.

Lunches
Lunches are served buffet-style and are light meals for most; fresh salads, carved meat and fresh-baked breads for sandwiches are the usual. But for those late risers with an appetite, there’s always a main dish or two from the chefs just for good measure. And don’t worry; if you’re signed-up for an all-day adventure, your lunch was packed with care and, most likely, something special from the morning baker.

Dinners
Dinners are not where we end our day, but get ready for the next day’s adventures. Usually, dinners are served buffet-style, allowing you to choose your own portions for yourself and your children. Meals vary throughout the week, featuring BBQ, roasted chicken, fresh cut fish, and grilled meats, particularly our own grown beef.

One night each week, the chefs will prepare a special Wine Dinner for our adult guests, highlighting regional wines chosen specifically for the meal. Meanwhile, your children will be well provided for with a balanced kid-friendly meal, including fresh fruit and vegetables (and smore’s around the campfire!).

Snacks
In the morning, the chefs usually have a hot pot of coffee brewing around 6:00 a.m. for the early risers. You’ll always find fresh fruits, muffins, cookies, cereals, fountain drinks, and juices available in the lodge throughout the day and evening. The snack bar is well-stocked with granola bars, trail mix, yogurt, and bagels for anyone looking for a quick bite. We can promise that during your stay you won’t go hungry at Red Horse Mountain Ranch. And in fact, pacing yourself isn’t a half bad idea.

“A truly wonderful experience with that comfortable home from home feel whilst being totally looked after by the dedicated, enthusiastic and superb team! This vacation was a long term dream and ticked every box in the excellent column!Relaxion, freedom, amazing scenery, delicious food and so much laughter, we would totally recommend this ranch for the family who wants precious time together plus activities to suit all. From lazing in the hammock to all day rides (to suits all levels), exhilerating fun for the children to cozy nights around the campfire, concluding every day with drinks on the balcony and a fantastic meal surrounded by fellow ranch goers! Not to mention then snuggling down in a huge bed with luxurious linen! The only down side was having to leave!” ~ Nottingham, United Kingdom, from TripAdvisor

“I totally got out of my comfort zone! I mean this in a very good way! I came alone to the Ranch (never been to a Dude Ranch before) seeking a new adventure. I have ridden for a long time but I’d never in the mountains before – purely midwestern flatlands. I also forgot, until I got there, that I have a major fear of heights. The mountains were much steeper than I anticipated. FORTUNATELY.. the Ranch staff and horse I rode gave me the tools and the trust I needed to help me overcome my fears and have the most amazing time of my life. By the end of the week, I was flying around the mountains with the rest of the experienced rider guests. Yes, this place is great for families and if you are looking for a place to relax and have fun. But it’s also a place where they allow you to challenge yourself if you want that too.And I agree with everyone else – the food, customer service, other activities, and accomodations (especially the beds and the food!) were superb.Oh and they do your laundry every day! A real plus! But for me, I learned lesssons from each one of the staff (and my horse!) about horses and about life that I try to incorporate in my life as much as possible. It was truly a remarkable experience! Thank You RHM!” Tripadvisor, January 8, 2011

“I wanted to take the kitchen staff home! Cooked to order breakfast served by the most cheerful servers was delicious. Lunch which was a buffet was so good with the freshest salads, great soups, and hot dishes – meatloaf was especially good! Dinner was a buffet (except for the 5-course dinner) – for a foodie like us, the food was heavenly. The desserts were really phenomenal – carrot cheesecake, italian chocolate cake.” TripAdvisor, October 15th, 2011

“We attended the “Ladies Week” with 28 other women from around the country. I met so many spectacular, brave women. Everyone instantly became friends. We shared stories, advise, achievements and failures. We laughed constantly. It felt so good. Sitting on the back porch of the ranch overlooking the mountains and horses with no telephones, televisions or stress of everyday life makes you realize how you become desensitized to the most important things in life. We are working to live not living to work. During ladies week we were pampered with massages, excellent food, wine tasting (actually drinking since it really was pretty much “happy hour” daily and a 7 course meal that surpassed any restaurant I have been to. ” Tripadvisor, October 9th, 2011
