"Ready to sign up as a ranch hand."

The location is accessible, but feels deceptively secluded--absolutely gorgeous, idyllic setting. The staff is good-humored, helpful and full of personality--they really make your stay feel like home. Guests come from all around the country (and internationally)and are prepared for a vacation of relaxation and adventure. There are so many activites to choose from--always something new to try. The horses are beautiful and the staff really takes care to match you with the horse that best suits your riding ability. We stayed in guest rooms in the lodge which were surprisingly luxurious and full of amenities (courtesy ear plugs next to the bed in case you're not an early riser). Yoga in the morning with Ginga was peaceful and invigorating. The food was amazing--we came ready to eat campfire food, but were pleasantly surprised by the feasts that 'Chef' cooked up for us! All in all it was one of the best vacations that we've ever taken. My only regret--we wish we had planned to stay longer--to really have an opportunity to participate in all of the activities and to get some lazy days in you should stay for 5-6 days minimum!

"Great Staff, Accommodations comfortable.
"

We had a great time at Red Horse Mountain. Our only complaint was that we didn't stay longer. The staff was great, accommodations clean and comfortable but not overdone. Loved the chocolate cowboy boots on my pillow, the yoga (after riding), and the scenery. I'd go back again in a second.

"Impressive, Adventurous, & Relaxing"

We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at the dude ranch. We had never done anything like this before. The staff was friendly and genuinely interested in making our stay wonderful. The variety of activities was appealing and fun. The atmosphere was small enough to feel personal and "like a family." We stayed in a room in the lodge and it was very nice. The decor was perfect and quaint. The location is breathtaking. I enjoyed visiting with the staff and seeing how much fun everyone at the ranch was having (all ages). We liked the meals that were "plain" more than the fancy meals, but I can't complain about the food. It was plentiful and quite tasty. I only wish we stayed more than 3 days/2 nights. Highly recommend this experience to others.

"I will definitely return for a longer stay."

Cory, you have a great place and an awesome staff. We were really sad to leave on Monday. Melissa had just spent the last nine months battling cancer with her mother. Thursday was Mom's last chemo, and we arrived at the ranch on Saturday; I was worried Melissa's mind would be elsewhere. Needless to say, Melissa really needed to recharge her batteries, and heal the mind. I could not have planned a better place to go. The ranch is an unforgettable experience from the moment you arrive, until you leave. The ranch affords you the opportunity to play hard, or comfortably relax; of which we did both. The meals were plentiful and delicious, and the accommodations were excellent. The horse riding experience was tailored to our desire. Melissa did not want to leave, I saw her smile more over that unforgettable weekend then I'd seen her smile over the last 9 months.  The highlight of the ranch was the warm and friendly, but professional staff. They also matched us both to some great horses; I will never forget "Big Red". Great place, I will definitely return for a longer stay."

One of the best places on earth to spend a week
Red Horse Mountain is one of the best places on earth to spend a week! There is stuff for everyone to do, from small kids to older adults. I've been there three times and haven't disliked one moment of it. Their mountain biking is to die for. In my opinion, it's better than Disneyland!

Better than Disneyland

This was our third year to spend a week with our grandchildren. We have returned for our "gramp camp" at the ranch each year because of the great customer service starting with reservations , to the wranglers, to the chef, to housekeeping and to all the guides and assistants. Everyone goes out of their way to make your experience at the ranch exactly what you want it to be. The variety of activities fits all of our needs. Our granddaughters spend every minute at the barn or on a horse. Our teenage grandson loves to mountain bike, shoot archery and skeet with Grandpa. Grandpa loves the fly fishing and white water rafting. The best in the country is all I hear. And as for me, there is yoga, great food and very clean cabins and seeing my family enjoy what has become the greatest part of our summer.

Awesome Vacation

The days we spent at Red Horse Mountain were incredible! The entire staff took care of us and our every need. We loved every minute of it and have already booked our week for next year. There are so many days we look at each other and say we can hardly wait until our trip to Red Horse Mountain next year! Cory and his staff are the BEST!

Spectacular; more fun than we could have imagined.

From the time we arrived to the time we left we were treated like queens. The accomodations were neat, clean and very comfortable. The food was great and although the fishing conditions (our ultimate goal) were somewhat challenging, our very professional and charming guide got us into some really nice cutthroat trout. We don't have those "back east." I would recommend Red Horse Mtn. Lodge to anyone looking for a great time in a spectacularly beautiful setting!

Memorable Memorial Day Weekend

We spent two nights and two awesome days at Red Horse Mountain Ranch over Memorial Day Weekend 2008. The ranch property and surrounding forests are pristine, the accomodations are fantastic and the hospitality is first class. There are endless amounts of activities and the staff was willing to tailor the activities to accomodate our preferences. By the end of our stay we wished we had stayed another week. I would recommend Red Horse Mountain Ranch to anyone seeking a ranch vacation.

Topnotch facilities and staff!!!

Cory and his staff made us feel like family. They fit my son and myself on a couple of great horses that never once left us rookies feeling nervous or unsafe. The kitchen staff were fantastic an always eager to please. Five out of four stars!!!!

Extreme Fun

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and smiles. From the never-ending activities offered on the ranch, to the night "fairies" making sure we were always comfortably tucked away in our exquisite cabins, to "Chef" filling our tunmies with really special meals and delightful goodies (throughout the day), we had a fabulous time. The wranglers and guides are so much fun to be with,(as were our 4-legged friends-how do they match us up so perfectly?) We only stayed 4 days, so we couldn't even experience all the activities, because we rode horses each morning. Don't miss Wednesdays, when Tom sings at the campfire! He's an amazing entertainer. And oh, yes, PLEASE attend the yoga classes, I have never felt better! My teens even attended with me, it was great to see them appreciate the finer things in life! The families with smaller children seemed to be having just as much fun as my 3 teens, it's truly a vacation for everyone! There is a lot more staff than guests and all with personality plus! As far as the cabins, they even thought of alarm clocks and nightlights! The beds are so comfortable we slept like babies! They provide refillable water bottles and different locations on the ranch to fill them. Saddle bags on the horses hold the water bottles along with cameras, hats, suncreen, etc. We thought we'd bring a few snacks to the ranch, but with all the food provided, we barely touched our snacks...We brought some games from home, but discovered the game room STOCKED with fun games and even videos and books. The big screen TV was entertaining, but we were so exhausted from each day's activities, we only watched one movie over the course of three nights! The washer and dryer are very convenient, work great, and the souvenirs and gifts really high quality! I am enjoying coffee every morning in my Red Mountain Ranch Mug and remember fondly the really great family time we experienced!

Wonderful Place and Wonderful People
"BEST VACATION WE EVER HAD!

This is the best place to get away for it all. We enjoyed the quiet, the nature, the people who work so hard to make you feel at home. All the staff are friendly, attentive, and will do anything to make your stay comfotable, and memorable. We took our daughters and the girls had a fantastic time. The older daughter learned to fly fish, and the younger made friends with all the horses. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned that Fall ('06) and again experienced a fantastic trip. Cory and staff run a first rate operation. The guests are their #1 priority, and you can feel that from the moment you check in. The food is fantastic, and there's plenty of it. I cannot say enough good things about Red HorseMountain.

The Perfect Vacation

"We recently stayed at the red horse mountain ranch in Idaho on a family holiday. We're mainly riders but with the kids growing up we wanted a few other activities besides this. We had several options and we narrowed it down to this one ranch purely on the breadth of the activities offered. We did something different everday and our activities included mountain biking, a high ropes course, archery, kayaking and even yoga. - of course riding that goes without a doubt. The staff really made the trip and they were helpful in organising the stay and making sure we made the most of what was on offer and the meals were very varied with everything from fresh salds to wild game and fish. Our one and only issue was the price as this is a guest ranch that is on the more expensive side - then again that's all a bit confusing as it's more luxurious than others we have visited which is why we would still recommend it - we were also swayed by Ranch Rider the company who booked the holiday for us as they had visited the ranch last year and so were able to give us a true picture of what we could expect. We would suggest that other families weigh up all the facilities at the individual ranch - this was by far the better choice in terms of activities and accommodation"

What made this such a great vacation was the personal attention that all the staff showed to not only my family but also the other guest's we became friends with. Also, there is a ton of activities to do. I cannot express briefly what a absolutley magnificent time I had at redhorse. My compliments, thanks, love & new friendship to Cory & his fantastic staff. I was depressed to leave but would return again in a heartbeat. I never knew Idaho was so beautiful & stress free. My new favorite state. I actually got a card from the staff on my return home, I never had that.

Best Family Vacation Ever!!!!!

We have been to Red Horse Mountain for the past two years and have already booked again for next year. It is the perfect venue for families - there is something for everyone at Red Horse Mountain. There is Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Hiking on Mountain Trails, Clay Shooting, Archery, White Water Rafting, Fly Fishing, Yoga, a Massage Therapist on Staff, a Challenge Course, and various other activities. The food is wonderful, the accommodations are fabulous, and the staff is excellent. They also have the best Kid's Program around - our 9 yr old doesn't want to do things with us while we are there - she is afraid of missing out on something with the kids. Because of the small number of guests, you really get to know all of the other guests and we have already formed some lifetime friendships with other guests. If you want to take your family on a vacation that they will remember for ever - then take them to Red Horse Mountain - you will not regret it!!!!

Our best family vacation ever!

A Retreat. That's what Red Horse Mountain is. We found the place that makes our whole family excited about being there. With 3 teenagers, our family spends lots of time researching the perfect vacation and Red Horse Mountain was no exception. It's a place we sincerely didn't want to leave. Each day is filled with new, different and exciting things to do. It can be as active or relaxing as you want. You are treated by an all around first class staff that's fun, personal, professional, knowledgeable and most of all (as a mom, I think) safe. Our plans are already made for next year.

Great fun with terrific people in a beautiful setting.

Just thinking about our trip brings a smile to my face and a sense of peace. We had a phenomenal time at Red Horse Mountain Ranch! The guides, wranglers & staff all made us feel as if we were part of their family. The food was wonderful and they even prepared special meals to accommodate food alergies! The ranch is so peaceful, the cabin was terrific. We had so many activities to chose from each day. We spent our vacation with our son & daughter-in-law and 7 year old granddaughter. We created memories that will last a lifetime. This is a must see resort!!

We had a blast!

We had a wonderful family reunion at the Red Horse Mountain Ranch. The ranch fit all our needs plus more! The staff/wranglers were great and our kids loved each and everyone! Our family felt at home and enjoyed all the activites. We look forward to our return to the ranch soon!

This was the best vacation we ever had. The activities were great and plentiful, the food was over the top, the accomodations were very comfortable, but the staff made it what it is and the reason we will go back. We made many new friends, and loved every minute of it. I can't wait to start planning for our next trip.

What could be better? A true gem!

It would be hard to convince me that there could be a better ranch experience. Much better than their website reveals. Something for each of my family of eight (ages 1 to 54). Setting superb, activities galore, food excellent, accomodations just like home. But most of all - the colorful, friendly people. Wranglers, food service, office are all outstanding. A great ranch experience without shoveling horsepoo (but they'll let you help with that if you ask) Oh, and the horses are pretty spunky too.
