2012 Summer Vacations schedule for the lucky families able to get a cabin this year!

The new Mega Zip will be on the 2012 summer schedule at the ranch this year! The new Mega Zip has a water landing!

For all those lucky families that were able to make reservations at the ranch this year, what a great family vacation 2012 is going to be! Last season we added the pottery barn, long distance shooting, a dinner horseback ride, and golfing for those that needed to chase the greens. Hilltop vacation home was also a big hit and for this season, it remains as the most sought after cabin on the ranch. This year the new Mega Zip has already become a big hit with it’s water landing, 100 foot drop, and over 1000 feet. Needless to say the horses are still front and center and their ready to go! We’re so excited to get the summer rolling and for those of you who were able to get a cabin this summer, here’s your up to date, 2012 Red Horse Mountain Ranch Summer Vacation schedule and a few helpful hints for your week here at the ranch.

A Few Helpful Hints for the 2012 Summer Vacation Season.

The new Mega Zip has a water landing!

It is possible the ranch may need to make changes to the typical schedule during the summer.

For all the guided adventures on the ranch, all the necessary equipment is provided. We do highly recommend everyone brings plenty of jeans to horseback ride in, but also bring what you would typically wear for things like mountain biking, swimming (or the MEGA ZIP), and other activities. A pair of water shoes are very handy, along with something to kick around the lodge in. If you don’t have cowboy boots with a slick sole, you can easily find a pair of boots to borrow at the tack barn prior to your first horseback riding. We also keep the lights dimmed low to not affect the stars, so a good headlamp or flashlight can be handy during the evenings.

Just a reminder for all families with little buckaroos, the Mega Zip requires your children be at least 90 lbs and maximum weight is 240lbs.

Guided lake fishing trips do require all anglers 14 years old and above to have a valid Idaho fishing license which you can get at the trading post on the ranch. All fishing on the ranch does not require a fishing license. Guided Fly Fishing trips also require a valid Idaho fishing license. Daily fishing licenses run about $16 each.

For  those wanting to do the whitewater trips, war recommend arriving at the ranch prior to making your plans. The best day for the whitewater trip is Saturday, the day of your departure so you won’t miss anything at the ranch.

We’ve heard from a few guests coming from southwestern US that there have been some last minute flight changes made by the airlines. Please, if you do have flight changes, just call the main office and speak with Jody so we can update your shuttle information. For those guests who are staying extra days in the Coeur d’Alene or Spokane area before or after your flights, check with the ranch on current travel deals we have made with some of the local hotels. There are some large savings that you can take advantage of.

Other than that, have a safe trip to the ranch and we can’t wait to finally meet all of our new guests and see some of the faces we’ve grown to love over the years!
